It is here that guitarist and original member Jonas Jarlsby gets dressed up as the King to Welcome Us “The King Welcomes You to Avatar Country.” Avatar brings back “Pigfucker ” for this tour to help lead into the encore along with their comedic work from Avatar Country.

The set continues on with representation from several albums but highlighting the newest full length release Hunter Gatherer throughout. Mixing up the set with new and old tunes, “Let it Burn, ” a personal favorite, rings in for the second song to get the pit going… for the entire show. Pounding us with the heavy riffs like “The Eagle has Landed” and “A Secret Door” while showing off the melodic side of Avatar’s metal repertoire with “Going Hunting” and Eckerstrom’s skill with a piano for “Gun. He really highlighted the band’s versatility as musicians and performers making the Columbus crowd feel like they were all that mattered to this group tonight.
No shyness from front man Johannes Eckerström, who engaged in several interactive discussions with the crowd during the show. Remaining theatrically still for most of the song before a really kicking it up and bringing the Experience that is Avatar Starting out with a still photo pose for what seemed like several minutes (to our photographer’s delight) before breaking into “Colossus” using a separate drum kit in the front of the stage.
